PUCKMAN RULES!!!
Not sure what is going on with the goalie situation. This was the perfect time to get the back up goalies some game time. Can they both be injured?
Last chance to salvage this road trip.
Lets go RED!!!!!!!!!!!

Even a win tonight will not salvage this trip. We have not shown that we are any more of a cohesive team now thatn we were two months ago.

A win may not salvage the trip, but 2 and 2 is a lot better that 1 and 3. I am lot more interested in our goalie situation. What's up with that?

Just curious, what is meant by "cohesive" here?

From the little I saw of the 3 games so far in Alaska - our organized play has not improved much if at all. Passes have been made blindly and at times intercepted at times when it appears we do not seem to know where our linemates are on the ice. There is still the usual RPI problem of passing when we probably should shoot and vice versa. We are half way through the season and we just do not appear more "cohesive". Just an overall impression but we are still playing more like individuals.

Of course 2-2 is better than 1-3 which is better than 0-4. But it is not always just the end result and the score, it is how we played. We have not been the better team for most of the 3 games.

That certainly seems correct. FWIW, with the bonus for winning on the road, 2-2 will be better than .500.

The transition play was horrid last night. They needed to win 3 on this trip, and now they might only win 1. An at-large bid is basically out of question at this point barring an absurdly good 2nd half. The story of the season is that RPI is 2-7-2 in "close" games. I define "close" as a 1 goal margin when you remove ENGs. If they were even .500 in those games, you're looking at a 10-7-3 team, and we are having a very different conversation right now.

I'm interested in the goalie situation, too, but I don't know any more about why RPI hasn't used any goalie other than Marshall than I know about why Alaska hasn't used any goalie other than Gustavs Davis Grigals. (Why do they feel the need to identify him by his middle name? Is there another Gustavs Grigals currently playing NCAA hockey?)

It’s probably a hyphenated name. Gustavs Davis-Grigals. RPI has had a few such names in the past.

And just like that, Alaska retakes the lead. Looks like they got three shots in close succession. Marshall stopped the first two, but couldn't stop the third.

RPI gets another power play, but doesn't do much with it. Alaska got two shots on goal to RPI's one during the two minutes.

A little over two minutes left in the second period, Alaska still leading, 2-1.

Odd man rushes being allowed left and right, two shorthanded breakaways allowed that Marshall turned aside, no offense being generated. Feel like I'm back in Fall 2017 again
