Just heard the news. I don't know enough about the school to say. Is this an institution in some financial trouble, or is this really a strategic decision to rebrand?

Color me surprised, especially on the women's side, which has made some noise in the national rankings. Gotta wonder if the coaches and players had any inkling this might be coming. Or are they all suddenly googling for the URL of the transfer portal?

Answer to the question per Mike McMahon (CHN) via Twitter: "...no one on the coaching staff knew this was coming, per multiple sources. The coaching staffs of both programs at Robert Morris learned shortly before the press release today that the program was being cut. No prior warning."
