I am hoping for 1 or 2 more OOC wins this year and hopefully the same in conference performance![]()
Question for those familiar with the recruiting pipeline and process - RIT is now two seasons removed from the Frozen Four run. We all know what that experience has done for the fan base, national exposure, community awareness, etc. With all that, is this the first year we actually see a difference in the recruits that hit the ice for RIT? I assume there is a lag between increased awareness of the program and actually landing higher caliber recruits, but is it one, two, or three years?
Not only that but as was mentioned in the other thread, the emergence of Tanev, and a little lesser Pinner in the BC area is a bonus considering RIT recruits pretty heavily in the BCHL and AJHL.I think we are already seeing it. I am basing this solely on having 5 freshman over 6 feet tall this year compared to the senior class which has 1 player over 6 feet tall. Normally it seems like we tend to get smaller players over looked by other schools. Obviously this is a truly scientific observation![]()
Well It sounds like Pinner will be out of the Nuck lineup for a little while. Separated Shoulder out indefinitely. Likely 6 weeks easy.
Just a little tease but while RIT is preparing for Niagara by playing Brock, Niagara will be preparing for the game by playing Michigan.
BREAKING: Notre Dame and RPI to Hockey East

Just wanted to pass this along.......even if it's not the most "official" source in the world.
...
IF RPI goes to HE, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, the ECACHL does to fill that spot.
Just an FYI ... This was posted late last night on the Niagara forum (by our resident RIT fan):
ECACHL would be great (assuming RIT keeps growing the program - need to be better to compete there). It would be kind of a shame if it were to happen because RPI is leaving. That's one team I would have especially liked to see be a regular conference opponent for the Tigers (if this move were to actually happen). Not that they couldn't schedule a semi-regular NC thing with them, but being in conference is better for making rivals.I think RPI and ND to HE is pretty much a dream scenario for RIT. In many ways, the stage is set for a move to ECACHL, it's just a matter of having an opening available (and hoping those on the other end like the idea of RIT as well). It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the next few days.
