Speaking as a retired career Army officer (though not a West Point grad), we know the risks we may be subject to before ever accepting a commission. So we can all take comfort from the fact that Major Kennedy gave his life defending principles he deeply believed in and, in so doing, helped make our world a better, safer place. Sincerest sympathies to the family, which I'm confident will rise above this, as military families always do. The Army hockey program will go on, as it has despite losing alumni to previous casualties in previous conflicts.
