Playoff prospects:
RPI could finish 7th or 8th.
Princeton could finish 7th, 8th or 9th.
Union could finish 8th, 9th, or 10th
Yale could finish 9th or 10th.

Has anyone familiar with the ECAC tie-breakers scoped out how the seedings would look given potential outcomes tonight?

I just did a bunch of looking into it. Actually ends up pretty simple. Princeton will hold the tiebreaker against Union (even if Union beats them in regulation tonight) due to having more wins in regulation and overtime (Princeton would be 8 to Union's 7). So, its actually just RPI and Princeton 7th/8th, Union and Yale 9th/10th (even if Brown evens Yale in points, they will lose the tiebreaker).

For RPI to keep 7th, they need to equal or better Princeton's points tonight.
Also, if it comes to it, Union would hold the tiebreaker over Yale (due to head to head record between the teams)

Assuming the likely outcome of RPI getting 0 points tonight versus QPac, these would be the matchups [TABLE="width: 688"]

So it all comes down to having to root for Schenectady County Community College. That is asking a lot of me. :-D

Yah, me too. But given the choice of playing a team that we beat on Freakout night a couple of weeks ago (Yale) and then hopefully moving on to playing either Harvard or Cornell or the other option being to playing a team that we have lost our last 2 games by a total of 12-0 and then probably having to go to Quinnipiac after that. All I can say is Go Dutchmen!

Ralph and RPIfan4life speak wisdom... Go Dutchmen (or whatever they end up calling their mascot)!

Would it not also be beneficial for Union if they lost to Princeton? Not saying they would perhaps not play as hard to spite a rival like RPI, but would they fare better to lose tonight than to win? Just sayin.......

Does Union get home ice beating Princeton?

This is incorrect

Union will get home ice with a regulation win tonight. They would hold the tiebreaker over Princeton. H2H would be tied, ROW would be tied, Union has more points vs top 4.

Watching Ohio State-Minnesota and the Gophers got simultaneous majors for boarding and a hit to the head. Not only have I never seen two different players on the same team get majors at the same time (separate hits along the boards about a second apart) outside of a brawl, but neither one got a misconduct. With the way they call them in the ECAC I was beginning to think it was required.
