Quinnipiac @ RPI - Saturday, Dec. 1st

fr joe

Go Red! Go White!
It's the early hours of December 1st and it's snowing lightly here in Rensselaer County. I saw RPI tie Princeton last night and now Quinnipiac comes to HFH to face our Engineers. Q defeated Union, 4-0 in Shenectady. According to Ken Schott's Gazette link, Bennett thought the Bobcats dominated the Dutchmen in every phase of the game.

RPI earned their first point in ECAC vs P'ton; now Quinny skates in after punching Union in the mouth. Time for RPI to rise to the occaision against a very good opponent. We fell behind P twice last night... can't do that against Q.

GO RED!

Re: Quinnipiac @ RPI - Saturday, Dec. 1st

We had a really good effort last night, and got goals from two unexpected scorers. We are going to need an even better effort tonight with our best forwards finishing.
We can do this.

lets go red!!!

Re: Quinnipiac @ RPI - Saturday, Dec. 1st

Not sure if we will be back in time for this one-I thought we played quite well yesterday. Lots of hustle (a few periods of time where we seemed to sit back a bit too much). We had our chances and could easily have had a couple of more go in. Not fond of how we let Princeton have so much room at the point to have so much time to set up shots and we did let them circle and come out in front of the net a couple times. I did not see us hitting as hard as we have in the past-but then again we only took 2 penalties which is nice. I have seen Princeton before and they are a relatively big sized team. QU presents an entirely different set of circumstances-not as big but plenty fast. We cannot spot them 2 leads as we did last night or we will just make it into a long evening. Will be interesting to see what line up changes SA has in mind. Go Red!!

Re: Quinnipiac @ RPI - Saturday, Dec. 1st

The women are leading Princeton 3-0 going into the third at Hobey Baker (and outshooting them 24-10). If it holds, this will be quite a turnaround from the last 3 games when they were outscored 12-1 and badly outshot.

Looking at the livestats, the final was 4-3 in RPI's favor.

I didn't see the game, but Livestats paints a picture of a pretty wild one, with RPI holding a substantial shot advantage, but then allowing 2 shorthanded goals on a single penalty early in the third, to almost let it slip away. Important win for this team to get back on track.

Well, I have never known Weaver to be wrong, so I will go with Merriam. ;)
