I think that we proved last week that we could compete with anyone. Now if we can play through the tough periods and keep our composure we will surprise a lot of the teams that we play.
This team just needs to believe in itself.
Lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this stage we just about know what we have and are capable of. For me it is all about match ups. There are going to be some very good teams that we match up well against and the games are going to close fought. There others that for one reason or another, we just do not compete well against on any given night. Same with mid level and poorer teams. On those occasions that we do not seem to match well, we will have to make some in game or between periods adjustments. That is both the job of the coaching staff and the players themselves. If we can do that successfully, we should be able to compete with just about anyone. QU is a real quality level team and we should know in the first 20 minutes if we can do what is necessary. We are a 1.5 goal underdog but if we play our style of game, keeping this a low scoring affair with few quality chances against, could be a close one. In this league we need to keep the goals against at 2 or below (and somehow find a way to score 3 or more). Let's Go Red!!!

Dr.D.,
How do the odds of us winning this game compare to the odds on the football game tomorrow"

Ralph: You do not want to know how big an underdog we are listed for tomorrow in football. We are getting little or no respect as the lowest rated team still alive in the NCAA Division III tournament. North Central is no doubt, a powerhouse and if you look at their season record, they love to run up the score. We have tied a school record by winning 11 games this year but most were last minute victories by slim margins. Personally I think we are not close to be a number one ranked team however, I think our schedule with games against Hobart, Ithaca and Union compares well against most of the teams left in the tournament. We are indeed properly classified as an underdog but in the part of the country where this game will be played tomorrow, December weather can be a major influence. If we play a great defensive game, get a couple turnovers, make virtually no errors, and most important keep this game close early, we have a chance. From the numbers I am seeing, North Central has a 99% chance of victory and that is about the highest number I have seen against us ever. (but then again I wonder what the odds on our games would have looked like in 1959-1964?)
For tonight's hockey we are given a 24% chance of winning against 64% for Quinnipiac.

I won’t be on until later. Probably 2nd or third period. Keep good notes.

I should be around but not really near a computer. Might have this game up on the big screen at least for the early part. Hope we can play QU tough!! Go Red!!!!!!

Women 1-1 in 2nd at Dartmouth. Again started slow and were down 1-0 after first period but Nyah Philip potted a rebound to even things in the 2nd.

Lots of good team play by RPI resulted in multiple chances.

All of them more than negated by one individual effort by a Quinnipiac player.
