Sumpf, Blake and Cali were my top 3 forwards from the weekend. If the team can rotate and keep everybody happy, I hope they don't regret having that many extra players. With Monteiro out for a bit that gives some relief of who to bench. Only a sample size but hopefully Sumpf's early success translates over the course of the season and his development takes a big leap.
Don’t think you mean “that many extra players”, because there might not be enough to respond to a string of injuries or a locker room filled with players with the flu because the roster size is lower now than it used to be. Hopefully the player cap will be expanded rather than reduced. Since player lineups are limited to 4 lines of forwards and 3 lines of defenders + 1 extra, there will always need to be scratches, but perhaps your concern is about healthy scratches of good players which is what happens with a deep bench. That is a tough spot for coaches and risks hard feelings, but that is how it has always worked and the better PC gets at recruiting, the more difficult that challenge will be. Perhaps that is why coach Leaman recalled some NHL alumni who didn’t get much time as freshman in a recent radio show and mentioned that Malinowski was going to need to battle even harder for minutes had he stayed this year.

They did well in replacing Malinoski. I think he had a really disappointing junior year, and weighing him staying vs. potentially losing any of the new players this year, it's time to reset the clock and bring in some freshman bodies that can (hopefully) have a peak higher than Malinoski should they play through three years.
Liked the determination in tonight’s game vs Union. The team rallied from behind after two periods in the third and scored on a beautiful passing sequence in OT with the final scoring shot executed by Gamache.
Coming back after being down after 2 is pretty uncommon, (it would especially be if you are the opponent vs PC under coach Leaman). Union looked pretty darn good to me so they will probably be another team, (like Stonehill), that will over achieve this year.

Hey now, ol' PK is still here! While I get the forums being quiet, we need the arena packed for every home game. Got seats next to mine that are unavailable but haven't been in use since the 23-24 season. I was able to recruit a new ticket holder for a couple seats so that's a plus. Guy loves watching them in person. All it took was bringing him to one game last year and he was hooked.
Boys looked pretty sharp tonight, they were clearly the better team and didn't look overmatched at any point. If PC wasn't my team, my interest in Lowell goes back to the Hellebuyck years. They always seemed like a solid group that played hard and had decent talent, but I see they're struggling more now than not. I don't know what it's gonna take to have consistent and loyal attendance to every single home game but I'd love to see more people in seats!!
Off-topic but where does anybody park? Have been fortunate to get in the main lot though parking director has warned that it's for VIP only. Always trying to eye something close since being able to park in handicap now, any recommendations are welcome!

Strong weekend sweep of Lowell. They looked much more alive in the second game and the results showed. A couple goals surrendered when the game was already out of reach for at-risk of being tied or losing. Little mental lapses and missed plays, but I liked the line combos they rolled out for this weekend series. I'd like to see Klippenstein a bit more, but overall the freshmen and transfer(s) have been great thus far. Baldwin getting tagged twice for penalties, that needs to be cut down. Their PK streak is now broken up surrendering a goal in the last few seconds on one, but outside of that they've won the games they should, aside from a little speed bump with having to overcome a deficit with Union.
Next up Halloween afternoon with Quinnipiac at 12, that should be a very good game.

What a first period, the goals kept coming. Felt bad for the UML goalie, 5 goals in 1 period will hurt your stats for a long time. Looked like the Friars took their collective foot off the gas pedal for the rest of the game, but sustaining the speed and scoring of that first period would be pretty much impossible. Liked Parson’s ability to hold the fort and UMLs capacity to keep at it, but the game was clearly out of reach.
Would love to see us beat QPac, that would be a statement win, (but guarding against raising expectations too high).

Q-pac is still a threat to challenge even though they don't have that elite goaltending this year. Their top 6 is one of the best in the country, strong on defense. First real test of the season, I think PC will fare better than the NCAAT matchup last season.
