PHF [fka NWHL] Expands Rosters and Extends Cap Ahead of the end of 21-22 Season

The PHF has announced an additional roster spot for each team and an additional $10,000 through the end of the season. The cap is now $310,000.

Clubs will now be allowed to dress 18 skaters instead of 17. Teams are permitted to sign up to two more players from other professional leagues (wondering if they consider the PWPHA a league or just Europe?).

Rosters will freeze on March 14th.

The playoffs are set for March 25-28 in Tampa and will air on ESPN2 and TSN2.

The league has already committed to the following for next season:

- Eight teams (teams 7 and 8 have not been announced, but one is believed to be for Montreal).
- A salary cap of $750,000 per team (a 150% increase from $300,000)
- 100% healthcare premiums from the team.
- 10% stake in all teams to an investment pool for the players
- Players to retain control of their own likeness and to profit from their own image.
- 28 game season
- Updated facilities
- Purchasing new equipment for the players.
- More practice time on-ice

I wonder if they are targeting players coming home from their Olympics, both North American and European, to come finish the season?

March 28 final game on ESPN 2 and tsn 2 is very exciting. Pumped to watch. Hope TO can get it done but Boston especially and Connecticut seem like reasonable bets too. Please not another Boston championship....
