Si certus es dubita
Forgive my ignorance but I don't know all the ins and outs of what is permitted now. Some questions.
1. Players can now sign with collectives for NIL licensing revenue. My understanding is this can't be based on performance -- it's not pay for play, it's negotiated on the profitability of the player's image used in media and commerce (which probably is performance but hey maybe he's just really cute). Is that right? Is it unlimited?
2. There was a lawsuit for damages the NC$$ settled for $3B. Who gets that money? is it currently active athletes? Athletes who were active while the NIL lawsuits were working through the courts? All athletes ever? How does an athletes share get determined, arbitration?
3. There's a stud RW heading for Quinnipiac. I no likey. Can I get out my checkbook and just write him a check for coming to Cornell? Can I just flat out bribe him, openly, legally? Can I just flat out bribe him but there's a bullshit cover story we both have to agree to?
4. Lax bros go into finance. They love to compete, they make a lot of money, and they make Patrick Bateman look well adjusted. What stops some Princeton or Cornell hedge douche from bribing a stud guy at the X coming out of Jericho or Lynbrook $1B? What stops the equivalent from the Brown alumni network from buying the entire Western Michigan roster for, I dunno, $250?
