We might need to rely on the Swedes running out of time to win this one.

The Americans should taunt the Swedes with all the time they have left. :p

Crazy start to the Swiss-Norway hockey game.
Norway player covers the puck in the crease for a Swiss penalty shot.
They miss. Come back down and score 8 seconds later.
All in the first minute.

Here we go....USA! USA!

They could be 5-1 and on their way to a medal. :(

And the US gets it done in curling. 6-3 made the medal rounds in Torino, right now best they can do is 5-4, so still need loads of help obviously.

I wonder what the earliest penalty shot in an NHL game is.

Cool fact from Wikipedia:

For possibly the first time in professional hockey, a player was awarded 2 penalty shots on the same play. This occurred on Friday, November 27, 2009 in a game from the ECHL league between the Utah Grizzlies and the Alaska Aces. Vladimir Nikiforov of the Utah Grizzlies was pulled down from behind on a breakaway and as the play continued the opposing team knocked the net off of its moorings intentionally. Once the referee stopped play he awarded Nikiforov 2 shots, with the second being negated if a goal was scored, however the goaltender stopped both shots.

If you're Norwegian, your name couldn't be much cooler than "Vikingstad."

You have to wonder where we would be sitting if the lineup today had been the lineup all along. Smith has been money throwing last rocks in each of the last two matches, and Shuster seems to have largely settled down throwing third (with the one blown draw apparently due to a surprise change in the draw weight, as evidenced that the Smith and the Swedish skip both put their draw attempts in the exact same place).

Hard to argue with that.

I am definitely from Minnesota. To me, the Swedes and Norwegians look more like Americans than most of team USA. :D
