Headed to Ottawa to catch a Sens game. Any suggestions for good & cheap bars in the Byward Market area?

that area is fairly expensive last i remember. fun time though.

metropolitan is closer to the westin, but has decent bar food with a very trendy restaurant feel.

There's actually a nice pub at the Rideau Centre, now called The Exchange. It was an Irish pub when I was there about 8 years ago.

But yes, get a Beavertail and some hot cocoa. I recommend either the garlic butter or the Nutella beavertails.
