Ohio State Buckeyes 2023-24 The Muzzinator Gonna Muzzinate!!

I'm going to start this now since last season is behind us and we Buckeyes can hardly wait for the new season.
I was at our rink today watching our hockey camps and had the opportunity to interact with Coach Muzerall and Elander along with others and some of our players. I picked up some interesting tidbits, some I'll mention now, others later.
One of them is the capacity of our new arena has yet to be decided.
One of the other is the opinion is this may well be our most potent roster yet in the upcoming season. If true we may quickly regain the number one national ranking and hold onto it again throughout the season. Others here on forum will challenge that assumption but we shall see, won't we?
In the recruiting world the Muzzinator's sphere of influence has spread nationally and internationally and things are in the works to make it even more so! If any program thinking they have a lock on top talent in their region, that will be changing.

What's to argue...The yuckeyes added the top two players from bc's roster...A top 4 defenseman from the fighting nurses...Quinnipiac's leading scorer and Penn State's leading scorer plus the landcow's top goal scorer. No one else even comes close to addiing that kind of veteran talent to an already talented roster. Heck, I'm not sure the season should even be played. Might as well just give the trophy to the yuckeyes.

I guess they need to hope they're at least one goal better than last year.

:-)

Buckeye, what camps are going on this week? Nice you got to speak with coach and some players!

Our youth and high school elite camps are currently happening and higher level camps will be in July.
The Muzzinator just had an Ohio State camp in Minnesota which I believe went very well in looking over regional talent.
You may start seeing Ohio State girls hockey camps appearing all over the country, there are no boundaries in her recruiting skills.

WI heads to The Dump @ Hayes Dr sponsored by Andy's Asbestos Abatement LLC on 11/17 and 11/18. That will be you first chance to get the #1 spot. After last season my perspective on being ranked uber high all season is completely different.

Yes, it's mostly irrelevant except for two things, pride and the best seeding come tournament time.
When we have our new barn we will indeed be applying to host the WHCA Final Four, NCAA regionals and Frozen Fours.

Here's another tidbit, there will be charged admission to our games this coming season. I don't believe the cost of a ticket has been set yet.

Haha, don't be trying to jinx us! If last season showed us fans anything, it's that games are not won on paper. I hated getting to the final game, then getting shut out 1-0 (only time this team was shut out all season), but that disappointing ending will motivate this program. Hopefully our team comes out of the locker room pissed off about that every game. Went to one of our camps earlier today. As Hockeybuckeye already mentioned this, after being free for years, OSU Women's Hockey will be selling tickets for games now. Not sure what the price will be, but one of the reasons for tickets was seeing so many want to come to games, but were turned away due to the OSU Ice Rink reaching capacity. Hockeybuckeye mentioned this earlier, but Gene Smith and the athletic department have not decided on a capacity for the new arena. I sincerely hope they take into consideration all the times people were turned away this past season and decided on a capacity where that is unlikely to happen. My magic number would be something similar to Ridder (somewhere in the 3K range). Have some foresight and do it right so that we can host the WCHA Final FaceOff, Frozen Four, and possibly the IIHF Women's World Championship. Anything less than 3,000 and all three of those are out the window. That is all I have for now, at least until I read some more posts.

That would be a good start. :-) With the scoring Coach brought in, I am hopeful that was addressed. We'll find out starting in October. Until someone proves otherwise, your Badgers are #1.

Last season definitely proved the old adage about it not being about where you start, but about where you finish. So, are you finally going to make a visit to "The Dump" this coming season? Come on T-A, you only have six more chances to see the Badgers play at the venerable OSU Ice Rink before we move into our new arena! :D

An interesting point was brought up, how many games have the Badgers won in the so called dump since the Muzinator rebuilt the program? Maybe they don't do well here sucking in all that asbestos?

(If I didn't mess it up)
Since 2016-17 and Muzzerall coaching:
- in Columbus, Wisconsin has gone 6 wins, 8 losses
- in Madison, Wisconsin 7 wins, 3 losses, 4 ties
- neutral/post-season Wisconsin 4 wins, 2 losses

The point was wins vs losses in our barn, not overall and since she REBUILT the program. The past 3 seasons Ohio State had 5 wins and 1 loss in Columbus vs Wisconsin with the last two seasons being sweeps.
No matter if TimothyA calls our barn a dump, one can't deny the facts it's currently a tough place for ANY team to scratch out a win let alone Wisconsin.
Last season we had only 1 loss in it.
