Nut Job At Joe Louis

If you are watching the LA Kings Detriot Redwings game there is a person/fan up in the rafters of the arena. They cleared a section of the arena below where the person is in the rafters. This is pretty scary hopefully they can get the person down.

Re: Nut Job At Joe Louis

My original reaction to the thread title was "Of course, the place is filled with people who live in and around Detroit, obviously they're nuts" but that is kind of odd. Wonder how he found his way up there.

"Fan on catwalk causes ruckus at the Joe

The Red Wings' loss wasn't the only thing the fans were talking about.

During the second intermission and start of the third period an entire lower-level section was cleared because a fan got up on the overhead catwalk. Fans and players were looking up as play was going on.

"During the third period of tonight's hockey game, three patrons entered a restricted area on the fifth floor of Joe Louis Arena," Wings spokesman John Hahn said in a statement. "One of the guests entered a catwalk. In order to ensure the safety of our guests, JLA ushers and security personnel responded by clearing a small area of the stands below the catwalk until security and the Detroit Police Department were able to remove the individual from the catwalk."

Some Wings players thought something had fallen onto the crowd.

Said Wings captain Nick Lidstrom: "We weren't sure what was going on.""

So, uh, that's that. :o

Re: Nut Job At Joe Louis

I remember something sort of similar at the old Boston Garden before they ripped it down... some guy kept sneaking into all the Bruins' and Celtics' games via the roof and watching from the catwalks... they finally caught him during the playoffs. ;)
