NU Prof's Computer Rankings for Jan. 25

Here they are - Middlebury falls out of my top 15. The top two continue to be Oswego and Norwich. Some shakeups and big moves

Re: NU Prof's Computer Rankings for Jan. 25

I'm curious as to what would have impacted Adrian's jump.
Should I assume that it has more to do with other programs sliding down ?

three things

1. Their SOS is improving because of Marian, Oswego, and Hamline going on good runs lately, and the fact that they haven't been playing the bottom feeders of the MCHA so much lately (Finlandia is on the horizon, however I would note). Marian and Lawrence have help lift their defeated teams winning percent from dead last nationally to a bit higher.

2. They are back to winning

3. Lots of teams that were ahead of them have slipped, as you suggest.

Re: NU Prof's Computer Rankings for Jan. 25

I assumed wins over MCHA teams would have very little impact, but good for Marian's improvement.
I expected, and hoped that Lawrence would have been more competitive.
From what I witnessed this weekend, there wasn't much to indicate that they are closing the gap.

If losses to Oswego and Hamilne help us in your computer ranking, it's a small consolation from where I sit,... although our performance against Oswego was at least respectable.

Thanks.

I built this trying to factor in the pieces that the NCAA uses for their seedings, and several things that they don't in an effort to help predict/understand the NCAA selection process/seeding when it happens. If that is the case, it looks like there will be two NCHA, one MIAC and on MCHA team in the extraordinary 11, and Adrian could get a quarterfinal at SNC or a first round game at Elmira, depending on whether the committee wants to give them a first round bye or not. The first would guarantee a 2-2 split at Lake Placid and force either Norwich or Oswego to play a first round game (there would be only 1 of the 5 first round byes given to the East), the second would give the us the "traditional" "far" West bracket of three teams playing down for one semi-final spot, with a second "West" spot available if Adrian were to win two games in the East.

Let's hope that doesn't happen, considering they have the two longest unbeaten streaks by far this year. And of course they've been 1 and 2 for a good amount of time :p

In all seriousness, I just wanted to say that these rankings are great NU Prof. Have you ever sent the NCAA Selection Committee a note about this program you have? Would do wonders for the whole process IMHO
