Mercyhurst now 5 and 1 with Cornell only having one contest so far, a win over Etobicoke. But they have one and four games respectively to play before meeting each other.

In Ithaca, Robert Morris (1 and 5) twice and then the Big Red at Quinnipiack (5 and 1-'Q' losing their first game this season at Maine this weekend...after beating the Bears earlier on the weekend) and Princeton away (no games).

Mercyhurst sees Robert Morris at home with no other contests over the period.

Top ten scoring leaders currently include Agosta (#1) with 16 points, Bendus (tied #3) with 13 points, Bram (tied #5) 11 points and Scanzano (tied #9) with 9 points.

Princeton played McGill last weekend and lost 4-3. My vote in this poll is obvious.

At the time the game was played, voters had weighed in favoring Cornell by 10 to 7.

So what can we conclude from the actual game? Obviously, the "W" will help Mercyhurst at selection time. I'm sure it was invaluable to both to face a team capable of winning an NCAA title. It told us that both are great teams, and either could have won, which we probably knew beforehand. We'll get another snapshot in a couple of months. It'll be interesting to see if there has been any perceptible shift.
