Northeastern Huskies 2016-17 Part II: Postseason Edition

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2016-17 Part II: Postseason Edition

Obviously home ice is the 1st priority but we absolutely need a sweep to keep our slim at-large hopes alive.

Cmon, ZAR line at the Kelleher line on the big ice. What could be better...

I'm totally with you on this Dan. I still think UNH ends up matched with UConn, but think a series with NU would be much more compelling.

Huskies don't exactly have a sterling track record playing on Lake Whitt. Given the defensive mishaps this season, I don't want to give the opposition more room to work with.

Whatever the 4 v 5 conference qf round is. Also every game at the garden

No one wants to watch Tirone v Ruck

A wise man once said: "Quinnipiac is not a Top 10 team..."

A Community College graduate wailed plaintively: "You can't say that..."

If I wasn't a fan of either team that'd be great. As an NU fan, I'm hoping to avoid UNH because I think they're the only team of the 3 possible opponents who can score with NU. Both teams have 64 goals in 20 HE games. Northeastern has scored at least 3 goals in 16 of their last 17 games (and the game they didn't, they scored 2 on bad ice at Fenway). In the 4 games NU has played against MC and UConn, they've given up a total of 4 goals. You have to score to beat NU, and quite frankly I don't think those teams have the horses to do so, but UNH does. Kelleher, Grasso, Salvaggio and McNicholas are all better than any MC or UConn forward not named Tage Thompson. I know Merrimack has been hot, but looking at their roster I'm not scared of them at all. I see them getting swept at the Gut this weekend and would love to play them at Matthews next week.

Merrimack has won or tied their last 8 gms.
Not sure about them getting swept at the Gut.. but in a playoff type scenario watch out.

In case anyone doesn't already know it, tonight's game is being televised live (7:30 p.m.) on FCS Atlantic. Also tape delayed (10:30 p.m.) on at least one of the other FCS regional networks.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2016-17 Part II: Postseason Edition

slow starts on road seem to kill us some games. same thing tonight.. ME getting 2 goals in first 5 mins..

NU clawing back currently.. trying to hold off for the 3rd period for now.

We do it to ourselves. Coaches have to get the kids ready from puck drop!

Go Huskies
