Pretty in-depth feature Ryan Fallon and myself wrote about Kevin Roy in advance of tomorrow's season opener. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Game day and the season opener to boot...and no buzz?
Posted this on the other thread.. forgot about this one..
PK looks so much better.. hopefully that will continue. Bit undisciplined at times tonight but glad we got it done. Stevens goal though tad selfish, was pretty slick. Finn was very good for Colgate. Will wait for a few more gms before i pass any judgement on our goaltending. Overall, nice going NU.
. .If you haven't seen Nolan Stevens' goal- you need to. Goal of the year is sealed already https://twitter.com/GoNUmhockey/status/653012812269092864
...Roy line was ehh, not great...
I didn't realize it at first, but yeah, Sikura is pretty open there. All's well that ends well I suppose.
And I think that the first line's biggest issue was trying to be Kevin's line instead of a line of 3. Obviously he's great, but the other team knows that too. It seems sometimes like they're playing a game of "How can I give Kevin the puck from here?" rather than seeing that the defense is leaving them their own chances in favor of taking Kevin away. Hedges had a 2 on 1 with Kevin yesterday and pretty much refused to shoot or make a move even though the defender wasn't even acknowledging him. He eventually got to the net without getting an open passing lane, and by the time he accepted that, he didn't have room left to get a decent shot off either and put the puck right into Finn's gut.
...But Griffin, Collier and Cotton is the most talented 4th line JM has had and he needs to utilize it to keep our best forwards fresh for the end of games.
+1
I absolutely despise the phony ice cleaning timeouts for a multitude of reasons including creating a reason for not playing the 4th line.
