So, who will be in the new "Super Congress" that's being set up?

Re: New "Super Congress" thread #1

Each leader in Congress gets to name three people to the Super Congress.

Early odds:

Cantor: Paul Ryan
Pelosi: Nydia Velázquez or Louise Slaughter
Reid: Kent Conrad
McConnell: Orrin Hatch

Does this mean North Dakota going to get the blame for ruining the government by being a founding member of this new Congress?

I'm impressed that the interweb didn't blow up when you used the words "super" and "congress' next to each other. That's like trying to divide by zero.

It's nothing more than an end-run around accountability to the voters and the constitution.

Come again? The Constitution prevents the Congress from delegating its authority to another branch. It doesn't prevent it from delegating it to itself...

Bill's point is that no one pays attention to The Constitution. If they did then Congress wouldn't of had to read it to itself.

What prophecy?

There are three events I predicted would happen would lead to the "end of the world". The first one came true in 2008 (of course who didn't see that coming). The second I thought was going to be an attack that resulted in the country surrendering to the terrorists and going jihad, but it may instead have to do with the actions of the Super Congress, we'll just have to see. As for the third, December 23rd 2012, just read Zachariah 14.

Plus, as I understand it, legislation approved by the Super Congress would then be fast-tracked through both chambers, where it couldn't be amended by simple, regular lawmakers, who'd have the ability only to cast an up or down vote. i.e. Most of the regular, popularly elected Congress members that represent us will have much less say so in legislation.

Awwww....how cute is that? Someone still thinks members of Congress represent us...

Derp?

Re: New "Super Congress" thread #1

Yeah, because letting every congressmen amend and add riders to every bill that comes through in exchange for their vote has served us so well over the past decades.
