Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/15

That would be my take, had Hamline won Sat. against Gustavus Adolphus they easily could have over taken Elmira, but they didn't - they won at Gustavus Adolphus and lost at home. SOS & H2H holds Middlebury 4 spots above their conference leader Bowdoin. Will St. Scholastica loss to Wis-Eau Claire hurt them more? This should be the poll - will it be???

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/15

I know there has been much speculation on this, but do we get NCAA rankings this week? Webb? Scott?

Per the DIII Men's Ice Hockey Championship Handbook (Page 6, 4 on PDF):

Recommendation Dates
Each regional advisory committee shall conduct a telephone conference before the
national committee’s ranking calls on Tuesday, February 9 (nonpublished), 16, 23 and
March 2, and submit its recommendation to the NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey
Committee.
Selections for the Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship will be made by the
national committee Sunday, March 7.

Thus, the answer is yes.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/15

Noticed that Elmira was only in the top 10 by 3 points this week, which got me to thinking: when was the last time an ECAC-W team wasn't in the top 10?

I could see it happening next week if EC and M'ville split and Bowdoin gets 2 convincing wins against St. Anslem and NEC - 7 points isn't that much of a difference.

Thanks to my poll research, I can answer this question.

The last time none of the current ECAC West teams were in the top 10? November 8, 2004 (I say none of the current teams because RIT was in the ECAC-W at the time).

The last time there was a poll with no ECAC West teams in the top 10? Since the earliest poll available in the archives (10/19/1998), it's never happened.
