New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

This is a HUGE series for both teams. Should be some very spirited games in front of a couple of pumped-up crowds.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

Just a reminder, Saturday is the only football-hockey double header of the season for UMass. (FB plays JMU @ noon)

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

Any UNH fans want to speculate on who will start for the Wildcats in net?

Just my thoughts that we might see Matty D in net on Friday, and if UNH wins you might seem him again on Saturday. A loss I think you Foster on Saturday.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

I suspect Umile is hoping a walk-on shows up at his door sometime before Friday noon...

Maybe a PP/PK coach is on order as well.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

Hope I am wrong but I think UMASS sweeps

Game 1 will set the tone. If UMass comes out and clearly establishes themselves as the better team and sets the tone, then they may sweep. If UNH wins game 1, look for game 2 to be a tie, thats usually how these things work out for UMass.

The only good news coming out of this weekend is that UMass will lose to JMU... Big sweep at the Mullin Center for the Minutemen, the Wildcats need to show some fight against a quality opponent before I buy into them being competitors.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

If UNH wants to not be embarrassed they will need to stay out of the box. May be the worst PK in the history of hockey.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

He is for sure the #1 guy, but he has really stuggled this year, and he really is no Kevin Regan.

My predictions:

Friday - Dainton-DiGarolamo
Saturday - Dainton-Foster

And from watching the way things have played out so far this season I would be suprised not to see Foster in net. If he came back from the weekend we had in Wisco to play BC, I see him playing this weekend.

Re: New Hampshire @ Massachusetts 11/13-14

Interesting. Add to that our PP is clicking at around 30%....

don't forget it seems that every year we give up more shorties than anybody else..wouldn't be suprised if the Cats got one this weekend.

I know we root for the same team, but you might be the most pessimistic fan I know. You must have been around for the Mallen years. ;)

haha ive just been following umass too long, and i have one of those memories where i retain everything bad that has ever occurred. it seems like every game i go to i seem to bring the other team good luck, especially when they were shorthanded. the last game i was at was at PC and PC just missed scoring shorthanded, which my dad actually predicted they would 30 seconds before.

Maybe, but the 'Cats will still be on the PK, so you'll probably get it right back.

UNH's team defense is atrocious this year; this is obviously even more evident on the PK. Bad feeling about this weekend. UNH's best strategy going forward might just be to give the opposition a decent lead, and hope they'll let up.
