Re: NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs

My analysis attempt... Let those with more knowledge disagree...

* SNC vs LU
The teams split, each winning on the road. SNC won 4-0 in Appleton, while Larry came back from 3 down in the third at the CCC to win 5-4.

Despite the split, that ain't happening again. Kujava won't be in set for SNC (sorry, Tony) and SNC takes care business at home - by at least two each night

* Adrian vs. MSOE
Adrian swept in Milwaukee, 4-1 and 5-1

I'm thinking Adrian should sweep again, especially at home

* CSS vs. CUW
The teams tied both games in Mequon.

Should be good series. Both teams have struggled down the stretch. Saints in the dreaded minigame

* Lake Forest vs. Marian
LFC won both halves of the home and home.

LFC lost both games at AC last weekend but no shame in that - and had been on a roll. Foresters sweep.

Re: NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs

I think it will be tighter at the top than you think. Adrian and Scholastica have both looked very shaky down the stretch and I can see one of them getting knocked off early on. I also don't think Lake Forest will sweep. Marian seems to be a team hitting their stride with the potential to make a splash. Anything can happen in playoff hockey. Nobody saw Northland beating LU on their home ice last year or LF taking their series against MSOE to the brink. SNC will be the favorite but they could be in for sum tough games. Coming off their series with Northland, which wasn't even a challenge, they might be inclined to play down to their opponent's level this weekend. Will be interesting to see how the top teams fare should there be any adversity. Doesn't look to me as if any team is untouchable this year.

I will perdict that SNC will look to redeem themselves vs Lawrence (after their late season loss to the Vikings)..

Re: NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs

LFC was the only team not to take care of business on home ice last night.

The SNC-LU was closer than the score would indicate but then again it wasn't.

SNC had just a 2-0 lead late into the game. If LU could have manufactured a goal to draw within one, who knows what would have happened. That said, 5-0 was more reflective of the way SNC carried play and the domination in terms of SOG.

Tonight's game is on television locally, and I believe they stream it live at www.mynew32.com.

Good win by SNC last night. The D corps were in lockdown mode and get an A for the game.
While the Knights did have 46 SOG I'd say that 25-30 of those were shot from the perimeter into the chest of a squared up LU goalie. He did a good job of not giving up rebounds.
St. Norbert is rolling right now though and should advance fairly easily tonight.

Re: NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs

All of the higher seeds advance, with just LFC needing the minigame (and OT, too).

Scholastica travels to Adrian
Lake Forest travels to St. Norbert

Re: NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs

Scholastica @ Adrian..... should be a good game and may take OT to determine

LF @ Norbert.... LF does not travel well and have no experience in big games nuf said
