Re: NCAA Tourney: Cornell Big Red v. Providence Friars, 3/31/19

Providence very effective on PK. Met Cornell at the Blue Line and kept them from setting anything up. 7:30 1st.

Interesting the advantages Providence has playing at home that I wouldn't have thought of: post-game therapies. In contrast apparently Cornell's hotel lost power for three hours last night.

Brown is technically the host of the regional so the Committee didn't have to keep Providence at home. But clearly it helps attendance. This regional had by far the best attendance of the four regionals for the first sets of games.

Providence 2, Cornell 0. Wilkins! Under review for kicking it in. 1:40 2d. Goal. Assists to Bjorkqvist and Dugan

Never understood with 4 officials on the ice, why an official can't pick up sticks on the ice. It's dangerous. In my era, with only two officials, sticks were retrieved much more effectively.

Instead the officials get in the way, blocking pucks.:o

Providence PPG with 0.6 seconds in 2d. Providence 3, Cornell 0.

Conway from Wilkins and Duhaime.

Re: NCAA Tourney: Cornell Big Red v. Providence Friars, 3/31/19

Cornell PP. Best shot -- shorthanded breakaway that McGrath saved. Then Cornell had a decent shot on goal.

Penalty killed. 6:00 3d.

Re: NCAA Tourney: Cornell Big Red v. Providence Friars, 3/31/19

Cornell more spritely in this period, but too little too late. Providence has been the better team. 13:50 3d.
