just checked the D3 ranking and they have neumann and elmira at 6 and 7 BIg difference than this site 12 and 13..always wonder these polls r soooooo different

Because the NCAA is based mostly off of numbers and criteria and USCHO is based off of feeling....

No. The d3hockey.com rankings are, like the USCHO rankings, based off of an opinion poll of journalists and coaches. Quit simply, all that is different is the identity of the voters, and thus the respective opinions of the voters.

Unlike the NCAA Rankings which start out based on numbers to make it easier for the penny pinchers to not look like total buffoons as they manipulate the "secret rankings" into the most economical remotely plausible results.

My mistake back, I thought you were comparing the NCAA Rankings and USCHO...Not D3hockey.com rankings. Like Cards said, different voters (and for the most part more accurate voters) on d3hockey.com Love USCHO as always, but d3hockey.com takes things a little more serious on the D3 stage.

No, that's a poll, with different voters than USCHO.

Those are the latest NCAA ratings, although new ones will be out tomorrow, so that will be obsolete soon.

I don't think the choice of Pool C teams is driven by money, but the bracket is. They are straightforward in that regard - they even say that bracket integrity is a secondary consideration to travel expenses. That doesn't bother me - the national champ should be able to beat anyone anywhere in any order. If you have to play Wentworth in the first round to be national champ, then just do it - if you can't you are not the winner.

I admit that I have considerable disdain for the NC$$ administrators who believe "secret rankings" result in "good sportsmanship" and as I noted*, I don't think the "CHOICE of Pool C teams is money", but I do believe** the Pool C teams SELECTED is driven by money. And absolutely agree "the national champ should be able to beat anyone anywhere in any order".

* - "NCAA Rankings which start out based on numbers"
** - i.e. the ability to ride the bus and save the NC$$ money WILL earn you clout.
