Mount Rushmore: Northeastern

Please vote for your 4 choices to be on Northeastern's "Mount Rushmore." The poll will allow you to vote for more than 4 choices, but if you exceed 4 choices, your vote's weight will diminish by how many votes you cast (i.e. if you cast 5 votes, each vote will count as 80% (4/5) of its normal value). Also, there will be no concentration of a vote's weight (i.e. if you only vote for 1 your vote will count as 4 votes).

I guess it's ancient history in relative terms but the name of Ray Picard, our two-time All-America goalie from the early '50s certainly belongs on any list of this type. He was well before my time but being a two-time All-America in the age of straight sticks, square pucks, and no masks more than makes the case for me. It doesn't say much for the Northeastern way of doing things that an icon like Picard can be allowed to get lost in the mists of history.

That being said, the late Fern Flaman is the only no-brainer for the Rushmore on St. Botolph St. Personally, I would be OK with adding Picard and Art Chisholm because of their stature as early All-Americans. Beyond that, I just can't come up with a fourth name. Lots of nice players have come and gone over the years but, beyond Picard and Chisholm, none that could be considered icons or who left an enduring mark on the program. Pretty sad commentary given the fact that Northeastern is one of the oldest continuously operating programs in the country.
