Just got back from the game (with a little extended pit stop along the way, nothing wrong aside from my hand precision when it comes to small cubes

Beginning last year, any Contact to the Head call is an automatic done-for-the-night (and more if necessary). At least it isn't IIHF play, where it's an automatic suspension (match penalty).
As for Hicks, he was jeered from the second he came out of the tunnel. For MavHockey: Just look up anything about last year's RPI-Union home/home series.
