Bump just means to "bump" the thread back to the top of the list. PM is private message.

I think you PM someone by clicking on their User Name in the box to the left. That will lead you to their personal info page that will have a Private Message (PM) tab to send a private message to them.
It should open a message box that you type in and click "Post." That will post your private message. I will send you a test PM now.
