Interesting side note - this is officially the first conference game in the new-look WCHA, since the UAH-Bemidji game doesn't start until 8:07 EDT. Maybe that's why Bruce MacLeod is in Marquette.

Anyone who saw that game knows how galactically putrid the Hockey Least referees were. 85 minutes in penalties compared to 24 for Notre Dame? Even an eNeMa U fan can do that math.

Holy sh*t! :eek: That's awful on the zebra's part. I had heard there were two 5-minute majors that overlapped, but didn't see just how lopsided it was.

There were actually three majors coupled with game misconducts. Add in the two 10 minute misconducts and the players serving for those who were kicked out, and there was one stretch where 6 of 18 skaters were unavailable. That's tough to compete against any team, let alone one with talent like ND.
