Auugh! I was asleep at midnight. Ralph, thanks for starting the thread for tonight's game at HFH. Hope to see folks there. Am wondering, is this the beginning of Thanksgiving break? (I can remember when classes were held until noon on Wednesday/day before Thanksgiving.)

Let's pull things together with a win after a tough few weekends. GO RED!

Thankgiving break starts after next Tuesday's last class, so the students should still be around.

Things may have changed several times since I left RPI, but during all of the 10 years I was at RPI, it was like GRussinko described -- no classes at all on Wednesday. It would surprise me if RPI ever had a scheduled half day of classes since in order to even things out, one would have to have only PM classes on another Wednesday or declare another half day somewhere as a Wednesday afternoon.

Re: Mercyhurst @ RPI (Friday, 11/16/12)

Looking forward to see how the team reacts to last weekend.
I think the entire season is on the line this weekend.
That doesn't mean that we have to win, but we had better be playing the engineer way for every minute of every game.
I will be here tonight to see how that goes.

LETS GO RED!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Mercyhurst @ RPI (Friday, 11/16/12)

We will have to women's game on WRPI live at 3 from HFH against Robert Morris. If you're bored at work, you should listen.

Oh yes it does. We need to win-we need to win convincingly-we need to play as a team-we need to score-we need to hit hard-we need great goaltending. We have got to put the past couple weeks out of the picture and start right now. It is almost thanksgiving and 8 games played-if we do not start playing like this team should by now-it will be too late and we will be making excuses for the rest of the season of what should have, what could have, and what would have been. This team oozes talent all over the place and much more depth than I have seen in Troy in a long time. We start showing this now-or i have just been totally dead wrong in my assessment. Now- Let's Go Red!!! I want fire on ice-from the first shift until the final buzzer.

I totally agree with everything you say.
When I said that we don't have to win, I was just thinking of a situation where the Mercyhurst goalie stands on his head and turns back everything we throw at him. I have seen that happen as I am sure you have.
But we definitely have to dominate these games.

Re: Mercyhurst @ RPI (Friday, 11/16/12)

Realized i should have posted this here instead of the other post.

RPI TV live stream question....

Does anyone know what format the stream is in. I am wondering if i can get the stream on my iPad.

Re: Mercyhurst @ RPI (Friday, 11/16/12)

Tonight's lines for RPI have been posted!

Neal-Laliberte-Haggerty
Higgs-Miller-Lee
Zalewski-McGowan-Bubela
Fulton-O'Grady-Burgdoerfer

Leonard-Bailen
Leboeuf-Bokenfohr
Curadi-Hampton

Merriam gets the start in net, looks like.

I really like the defense pairings.
Leonard will give Bailen the room to roam.
Leboeuf and Bokenfohr make up one monster defense team and we follow that up with Curadi.
Sounds good to me.

Sure a goalie can stand on his head-but it often seems that they do it only against us. Tells me that we were just not able to find the way to beat him. There have been goalies who have done it-and we still managed to beat them-See Providence 1985 (well maybe with the help of an off side call missed). But I agree-sometimes you go up against one who just plays out of his mind-see Jon Casey (1984). It was 28 years ago and I still cannot understand how we did not get 6+ goals in each of the 2 games against him. Still the best goaltending performance i have ever seen in 49 years of RPI hockey and 60 years of NY Ranger hockey.

Re: Mercyhurst @ RPI (Friday, 11/16/12)

Oyyy vay. I really need to stop watching these...made my head hurt even more. Here's hoping he has something more upbeat to talk about next week.

Two convincing wins would help me an awful lot. If this weekend turns out badly I am about ready to reach for some medicinal help.:( Between this and what the stock market has doen to us the past couple weeks-life is not exactly a bowl of cherries. The money lost on Wall Street I can live with-but losing RPI hockey is just not something I can ever tolerate;)
