Mercyhurst @ RPI 10-8-22

Clean up the few mistakes from yesterday, keep up that work ethic, and get on an early season roll!! Yesterday began to answer the question of where the offense will come from, now start to develop the "keep stepping on the gas" mentality.

I know it is easy to sit back going into the third period with a 5-1 lead, but everyone knows that that isn't the best strategy.
It is a great lesson to learn so early in the season.
I think that we will get a better idea of what kind of team we will have after tonight.
Lets go RED!!!!!!!!!!!

RPI did a very good job of staying out of the penalty box last night.

Also a very good job of taking advantage of power plays - two goals in three chances, and a lot of pressure the one time they didn't score.

Good signs for the new season. Hope they continue.

Please post all the usual important stuff - I am trying to listen but having all sorts of interruptions expected. i really need to fully retire. Really need to get off to a good start tonight as we did last night. Starting the season with a sweep weekend would give our boys a big boost in confidence. let's go red!

The women lost 2-0 to Providence.

They simply cannot score. They take a considerable number of shots but the percentage of those that are counted as shots on goal is rather low compared to their opponents. This year looks like a work in progress.

This is a very different Mercyhurst team than we faced last night. They have put a lot of offensive pressure on RPI. Very even game so far.

History has taught me that we often are not the same team on the second night of two game series also. Sometimes we need something to get us going.
