The Manhattanville Valiants vs. Elmira Soaring Eagles game that was postponed last weekend has been rescheduled for tomorrow (02/12/13) at Terry Connors, 2pm.

Question: Why did they not just take saturday off and play sunday? This seemed counter productive to force Elmira to drive to Neumann then have every expectation to play Saturday in Connecticut at some point then be forced to go home and then come back?

Ice availability would be my guess without really knowing any facts. Remember the Terry Connors rink is Manhattanville's emergency home so I doubt they are first in line for ice time.

Right - TCR is used 24/7 by area HS teams reg season (conference and state tournaments just getting started) along with many youth programs... There was also a driving ban as part of the state of emergency by the Governor...so unless that purple bus was converted into an ambulance, fire truck or snow plow, they were not getting there - neither were the fans, officials nor zamboni driver...

Dumb Question, and maybe VCMCUC can answer this one with ease... Are there any potential issues or scheduling conflicts with ice availability at Terry Conners for a play-in game on Wednesday, February 20?

HS games at TCR on the 17th, 19th ......FCIAC Tournament owns the rink on 22nd and 23rd - State tournament starts the following week...youth teams, figure skating and synchro clubs and private ice time for international skaters fills the schedule most days...

For the Play-In game on Wednesday February 20th, we should be good to go. We have the date and time locked in. Just have to hope the weather holds up. I hear we are having ANOTHER major storm this weekend.
