This girl is amazing. I donate platelets every other Saturday (with a few exceptions) and these kinds of stories are what keeps us apheresis people going back. In fact, I have another appt. today at 10. It's an unbelievable feeling to donate and then to see something like this.

It's great that she's been fighting and that she returned to the ice Saturday after going through all that. Before long I hear she'll be back in the games as well.

Thanks for posting the link. This young lady is already a winner by overcoming a obstacle like this. God speed to her. Gives me a reason to watch for her next season.

Re: Mandi Schwartz

So good to hear/read about something positive like this, thank you for posting. I remember reading about her last year, right after losing my dad to cancer (Dec 10 '08) and it really hit home.
Welcome back to hockey, Mandi, and continued good health!

Re: Mandi Schwartz

I have had the extreme privilege of meeting Mandi and during her battle with Cancer and a time when she was at home, she came to the arena to give the girls team I was coaching a pep talk before a playoff game.

I wish her well! Go Mandi all the Hounds are proud of you!
