Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

Fighting Sioux 23

I thought I would start up a thread for the series this weekend. Maine has won 4 straight against North Dakota, so the Sioux will try to turn that number around. Also, several on the team might be looking for a little revenge. Given the youth on the team though, goals will be difficult to come by. I'm hoping for a sweep, but realistically thinking a split will happen.

What are everyone's thoughts? There doesn't seem to be too much enthusiasm from either side, as it is Thursday afternoon and still no series thread less than 36 hours from puck drop.

We need the sweep since this will be a common opponent with B.C. Would also like Denver to sweep in Boston this weekend.

Yeah, this series will have huge pairwise implications in March, and a sweep would be greatly beneficial. Agreed about Denver as well. I'd also like to see how they compare with the two Boston schools. It should be a very interesting weekend.

there will only be PWR implications if BOTH teams are TUCs

Maine will be a TUC if Fortbort plays goal...or if Dave plays 6 out and leaves the net empty

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

The best I see Maine doing is one tie, anything more than that will be beyond belief and UND sucks more than I think

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

I was surprised their was no thread for this series yet, usually NoDak fans are on top of this stuff. The BC loss must have really put a hitch in your giddyup.

Let's go Black Bears clap clap... clap clap clap, let's go Black Bears...

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

Am I missing an obvious PWR gain by this scenario? Otherwise I couldn't care less who wins these games.

FWIW, Minnesota would be best served if North Dakota (and all other WCHA teams playing non-conference this weekend, or any weekend for that matter) swept. Simple Math...if the WCHA has the best out of conference record, most likely, they will send the most teams to the NCAA Tournament.

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

Maine better be ready for a tough series with North Dakota, especially after a lost to BC last weekend and the series last fall at Maine...Maine's only hope will be if there netminders stand on their heads and steal a game or two...stay out of the box and keep UND at 3 goals a game or less.

Unless your goalie is horrible. 3 goals is doable.

50 something in the country last year, is that horrible enough for ya:D. They should be better this year though. Be interesting to see how they handle the crowd at the Ralph. This isn't a great Maine team, if they work hard they can win but the stars will have to align
