LSSU Lakers 2018-19

Bill

The new season is getting close. Has anyone been to any captain's practices? If so, how do the Lakers look?

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

Here's where Laker commits are playing their Junior hockey at the start of this season:

Chase Pilawski (D) - Green Bay (USHL)
Jesse Tucker (F) - Green Bay (USHL)
Robert Blueger (F) - Madison (USHL)
Mike Mannara (D) - Omaha (USHL)
Niko Esposito (F) - Waterloo (USHL)
Dustin Manz (F) - Prince George (BCHL)
Jack Robbel (G) - Minnesota Magicians (NAHL)
Spencer DenBeste (F) - Springfield (NAHL)
Louis Boudon (F) - Northeast Generals (NAHL)
Che Landikusic (F) - Austin (NAHL)

I assume Brendan Hill (D) and Bryan Huggins (D), young guys who committed this off-season, will likely still be playing High School and AAA hockey this season. I haven't yet seen them on any Junior hockey rosters.

First poll released today for the ECAC and they have Cornell on top and Princeton second. Forgarty has done a good job at Princeton . He is in his 5th year and already rebuilt a team that struggled to win 6 games a season in the three seasons before he arrived .

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

Jesse Tucker picked up his first 2 USHL goals tonight in a 4-1 win for Green Bay.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

I see the polls are out and the Lakers are picked pretty much where we thought they would be . Now the players and coaches have to prove that wrong .

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

From the hockey show, it sounds like freshman D Mitch Oliver won't be eligible to play this season. He has some academic issues. Nothing was said about who is or is not on the travel list for the Merrimac series this weekend.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

Seems as if there is very little excitement for the new season . Win or lose , it is time for Laker hockey and that is always top on my agenda .

I'm excited that the season is ready to start.

Bill,I believe you and I have been watching Laker hockey since they started playing at the Pullar stadium and that is a long time ago.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2018-19

Laker recruit Niko Esposito-Selivanov is now playing for Cowichan Valley of the BCHL.

It is good to win the opener . We didn't need Boreks revenge .
We got goals from guys who are expected to lead the team offensively, so that was good to see.

Sounds like Hampus Eriksson is out with an injury; maybe about 4 weeks.

Merrimack is supposed to play at LSSU next season.

I suspect we'll see Semandel and Mitens tomorrow although maybe Damon won't want to fidget with the lineup.

Two games, two wins, great way to start a new season .
After having a very good game last night, it sounded like the power play was pretty bad today, but we got the W and that's what counts. I think Mitens kind of saved us today.
