LSSU 2024 Off-Season

Bill

The roster for this coming season should be pretty much set. There could always be some last minute changes, but this is the way it looks to me now.

Forwards: Branden Piku, Connor Milburn, Sasha Teleguine, Dawson Tritt, Reagan Milburn, Luke Levandowski, Carter Batchelder, Joshua Wildauer, Jordan Venegoni, Timo Bakos, Cole Craft, John Herrington, Blake Humphrey, William Ahlrik, Wilson Dahlheimer, Everett Pietila, Hadley Hudak

Defense: Bryan Huggins, Jacob Conrad, Evan Bushy, Nate Schweitzer, Jack Blanchett, Grant Hindman, Mike Brown, John Druskinis, Adam Barone

Goalies: Easton Hesse, Rorke Applebee, Grant Riley

Any word on when the schedule will be out? Also, is Dwyane Roloson still on the staff with his kids transferring out?

Official schedule should be out anytime. CCHA conference schedule came out about a month ago. For non-conference, Michigan State is supposed to be at LSSU in early October, I think (not 100% sure) Stonehill will be at LSSU in mid-October, LSSU will be at Ohio State at the start of November, and I think LSSU will play the NDTP team and possibly Simon Fraser (both in Plymouth), dates uncertain on those last ones.

I don't know if Dwayne Roloson will still be on staff, but am guessing not.

Also saw a schedule compilation that said we were going to UAA as well.

I hadn't heard that one yet, but makes sense since they played in the Soo last year. No holiday tournaments for the Lakers this coming season.

I don't know if no holiday tournament is good or bad. I'd like one personally, but the Lakers have played pretty terrible in them ever since winning the GLI.

Druskinis just a huge head scratcher, just not at this level

He's being given a second chance. There will be 9 D on the Lakers roster so he'll have to earn any playing time he can get. If he doesn't show he can play at this level, he'll be sitting in the stands.

Crawford did say during the games against Alaska last year that they were making the return trip this year. Not sure if games in Alaska are still exempt from maximum total, but they could still be in a holiday tournament if they are exempt.

I heard that the games against MSU are Saturday/Sunday the first weekend of October.

The Lakers top recruit, Brady Milburn, who was expected to join the Lakers this coming season, has now been purloined away by Denver and will be going there instead. Several big name programs were interested in him from what I heard. He does have one year of Junior eligibility left so I'm not sure if he's going to Denver this season or next.

Any word when the full schedule is coming out? Pretty annoying all other CCHA teams have had their full schedules up for a while now except for the Lakers.

"LSSU 2024 Off-Season" likely refers to Lake Superior State University (LSSU) and their activities or events during the off-season period of the year 2024. Here’s a general outline of what "off-season" could entail in a university context. FMWhatsApp

Lake State and Ferris are going to be a neutral site game in Traverse City this fall. Good move for both schools.

I hope it goes well. What's the capacity of the arena in Traverse City? Any chance to turn this into a future 4-team holiday tournament with LSSU and Ferris hosting two other schools? Battling for the Cherry Cup?

I think the seating capacity is 1800 at Centre Ice Arena.

The Lakers have a change in their assistant coach positions. Vincent Pietrangelo has moved on to an assistant coach position at Alaska-Anchorage. He will be replaced by Ryan Shelley, who comes to the Lakers from the Maine Nordiques (NAHL) organization.
