Looking for a place to eat in North Dakota?

Re: Looking for a place to eat in North Dakota?

Actually, I never went to El Roco, and the only place I went where Dirty was, was The Red Pepper, where a bunch of us met up. I travelled up there with ShirtlessGuy and bbdl one year.
The only time I've been to El Rocco was one of the times I was there for business. It was completely dead and seemed like a dump. We only had one drink and moved on.

I've always had good food when I've gone to the Blue Moose as well, across the river in EGF. The little Italian place next to Bonzers was good the one time I ate there. I've never eaten anything at Red Pepper that made me want to go back there again, but yet, somehow I've had to go there about 4 times.

The italian place next to Bonzer's is hilarious, the food is authentic because the owners are Italian but the father and son like to get into arguments and kick everyone out. I've seen customers told to eff off one of the waitresses quit because she narrowly escaped being hit by a flying glass, they should have their own reality show.

My friends and I went to Red Pepper when we were in Grand Forks a couple years ago. Not exactly fine dining, but a step up from fast food and the like.

Damm, now I'm disappointed that I didn't get to see any of that when I was there. There was no drama whatsoever. But the Italian food was quite good.

It's much better at 1:30 AM during the bar rush! I was a bartender my last year at UND and would stop for dinner (Grinder with Double Ham, Double Cheese, and Taco meat) after bar closing. I was the only sober one in the place.

Uh, the "food critic" is 86 years old - give her a break.
That wasn't a commentary on her, it was a commentary upon the Grand Forks Herald. Why the hell is their food critic not getting her meals reimbursed by the paper?
