Longtime Fan Forum Poster Komey

It's a long way from Econolodge '99
A lot of us that have been around this Fan Forum from when it started might have exchanged views, battled in text, chatted privately and even met up with a long time RIT and college hockey fan, Komey. Komey passed away this past Saturday. I know TTF mentioned it in the Elmira thread but I figured I would put up an individual topic on it. Komey was instrumental in fostering more communication amongst all of us hockey fans back in the day. Cranking up the old AOLIM group chat of DIII fans from the fan forum on Friday and Saturday nights where we could have active razzing of each other, get to know each other more, and exchange scores from our various games. His love of college hockey even allowed him to be able to GULP have a jersey exchange between prez (aka Purpleandgold10) and himself at an RIT game, showing that even though RIT and Elmira were heated rivals….some civility can be had between our fan bases. College hockey fandom and this fan forum have lost a good one. RIP Komey.

Wow. I haven't been on this forum in a while but back when I was following an emerging Wentworth squad in 2000, I remember locking horns with Komey a few times (we were at times, a little barby but always landing on friendly and respectful - mainly due to his good nature). Yes, a real hockey guy and he did lead the old message boards with great energy. May he Rest in Peace!!!
