Lo, Govnuh: Because the States thread is overloaded

Popcorn in Georgia.

The move sets up a primary clash between Perdue and GOP Gov. Brian Kemp, who has faced criticism from Donald Trump for not supporting the former President's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

In his announcement, Perdue attacked both Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who refused to help Trump after the then-President pressed him to "find" votes in the Peach State.

I think Kemp might survive this, but I wonder how much the Trumpists will support him in the general after he so boldly betrayed them by not assisting with their attempt to steal the election last year. Perdue will campaign on being part of the Trump Cult... but is that enough to win the primary?

The Trumpers hate Kemp. They won't all abandon him but quite a few will even if he goes full Trumper. (which actually might backfire) They won't vote Abrams mind you but they probably write in someone or just stay home. Remember a lot of these people hate the Government anyways not voting is in their DNA.

I would take Pennywise as MI governor over any of the clowns running on the GQP side of the ballot. Ronald McDonald would also work.

It is painful...but watch this (you can with the sound off there is subtitles) to see how the co-sponsor of the new New Hampshire law tries to explain how to teach the 3/5ths Compromise if you aren't allowed to acknowledge that America has racism in its founding.

I have studied history my whole life...I never knew that the Irish were also 3/5ths a person! AND THE NATIVES!! And who knew that the 3/5ths Compromise was a net GAIN for Blacks as it stopped the proliferation of Slavery!

I hate people...

That is some kind of wild mental gymnastics there.

That is some kind of wild mental gymnastics there.

I had a conservative floor mate in college who argued with a straight face that the Klan was formed in part to protect law-abiding blacks from blacks who "had been encouraged by the carpetbaggers to break laws with impunity." He stopped just short of talking about menacing the dignity of white women.

He was also a fan of Pinochet.

This is by far the most educated and (on paper) intelligent conservative I've personally met. I am, broadly speaking, not impressed with the group.
