UMBC is by far best team on this schedule. navy being 2nd

Yeah. That's about all that can be said for this schedule.

Granted, I'm not surprised. In ACHA, SOS is still a meaningful factor. As a top 30 team, do you really want to schedule a team that hasn't won a game in 2 years (albeit at the NCAA level), and is losing players by the minute?

In fact, they quite likely are looking to the most recent example: Scranton, who (despite the same coaching staff to this day as the DIII team) now struggles to beat D2 teams. Given this history, I'm not at all surprised by the weakness of this schedule.

Given LVC's recent and very painful trials and tribulations, did you expect them to schedule the top dogs in their initial season in ACHA D1? They're essentially starting over from ground zero, so you might cut them just a little slack -- if it's not too much trouble, that is.

I am cutting them slack. The rest of my post outlined 2 reasons, beyond the control of LVC, that may very well have contributed to the weak schedule. The "they had to find room to fit LVC in" factor is also a VERY valid point. If LVC does well with this schedule, they'll gradually get more respect, and eventually get games with the top dogs. In an ideal situation, they'd eventually become one of those "top dogs" - but that would be an extremely difficult feat.

All-in-all, this is a good schedule for a 1st-year program.

Fixed your post ;) Seriously, I’m certain you would not lampoon any collegiate hockey program (maybe some individuals).
