Lawrence Vikings - why not have a thread?

I couldn't find a specific Lawrence thread. No real surprise. But this didn't fit elsewhere, so I figured I'd start this.

This is mostly a football note, as the school announced a $5 million makeover of the Banta Bowl, its stadium. However, phase 2 of the project could include an on-campus ice arena:

An on campus facility would be huge for LU. I will be curious to see if they are able to raise the cash to get it built. They had good football back in the early 80s, but it isn't a school that puts a huge emphasis on sports. It should be interesting.
