With a talented group of finalists, St. Anselm College's Coleman Noonan becomes the first Division II Player to win this award.

BOSTON, MASS. – Saint Anselm junior Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass.) was named the recipient of the Joe Concannon Award this morning after his career season with the Hawks. The award, named for former Boston Globe sportswriter Joe Concannon, is given to the best American-born Division II/III hockey player in New England. Noonan is the first Division II player to win the award since its inception in 2001.

Congratulations to Coleman for a job well done!Sort of a shame that he and the rest of the St.A's team is ineligible for conference and NCAA playoffs.

Hawkhockey... you're absolutely right. St. A's had a very good season finishing in a tie for second place in the ecac east. Unfortunate how overlooked they were this year. I understand they're DII and all, but they beat 2 maybe 3 top 10 teams this year and a couple more top 20. That's says a lot for their program.

It looks like they only graduate 1 player from this year's team too. If there is any truth to the rumor of the Division II teams (St. A's and St. Mike's) being allowed to compete in the ECAC East Playoffs next year, you might be looking at a sleeper to make a run come tourney time.


Anyone out there heard any new developments with the DII Teams as we head into the spring?
