I am reading the book Open by Andre Agaasi. In the book Andre says how he tried Meth one time. When this came out Martina Navratalova said how he did drugs and he cheated and he should give back his trophies.
Back in the 90s - I remember Martina ripping Andre for skipping Wimbledon one year saying "That is like skipping the Super Bowl to get ready for the next years preseason games".
The thing I don't get is why she hacks on Andre. What did Andre ever do to her? Martina is not so squeeky clean herself. First, she is a lesbian which in my opinion is fine but some people have an issue with it. Second, even though she never failed a test for steroids she was Barry Bonds before Barry Bonds was Barry Bonds, in other words she had more muscle than any of her peers. Which once again I personally don't have a problem with but others do.
OK, so the first two arguments dont really hold water. Fine. But according to Hollywood Henderson's book Out of Control she was present when he was snorting lines at her house.
I do not think she has any business ripping Andre for doing Meth one time. He did not do steroids so therefore he did not have any competative advantage by what he did. I also feel that she has no business ripping Andre for drugs when she is a lesbian, Some question whether she did steroids or not, and she had guests in her home doing coke. It doesn't make any sense!!
