Re: How Far Along Are You On Your Sports Bucket List?

• <strike>Packers win a Super Bowl in my lifetime</strike> (when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, this seemed impossible) TWICE!! :D

• <strike>Blackhawks win the Cup</strike> (same as above)

• Badger football win the NC

• <strike>Attend a championship game involving any of my teams</strike> (Badger Hockey 2006)

• <strike>Brewers make the playoffs again (since 1982)</strike>

• Brewers win a WS

• Go to a game at Fenway

• Go to the Olympics (as a spectator - why couldn't Chicago have gotten the bid?)

• Wife and I want to spend a weekend in Boston and attend a couple of games out east. At Harvard one night and somewhere else the other night and of course do the city during the days.

• Go to a soccer (futball) match in England (preferably) or elsewhere in Europe. And I'm no soccer fan...

Re: How Far Along Are You On Your Sports Bucket List?

I think I have around 30 or so on my list. Although a couple are visit every stadium within a league (All B1G football and MLB) so that could be expanded to around 75.

Re: How Far Along Are You On Your Sports Bucket List?

My short list is very incomplete:

Events to see live:
The Masters
Daytona 500
Kentucky Derby
Game 7 of Stanley Cup Finals
NCAA Nat'l Championship Game (completed x4)

It gets a bit larger when I start saying that I want to see my team win something, but who doesn't want to see their team win something, so I consider the bucket list to be the events that I want to see regardless of the participants.

I'm amazed that you didn't make it to a World Cup match and haven't been to the Hockey Hall yet.

I was poor and in college in '94 when the World Cup was here last. Once it returns, I won't miss my chance.

You're just saying that because you root for Michigan Tech! :D

It is hard to imagine, but at this point, out of the 4 teams I root for the most, Tech Hockey is the least hopeless. Thank you for being complete horse**** Vikings, Twins and Wild.

When my father was born, it had been 14 years since the Cubs won the World Series.

He died just before he reached 70 and the Cubs had not yet won the World Series since.

That was over 20 years ago.

I think the list should only have things on it that are actually possible....

Re: How Far Along Are You On Your Sports Bucket List?

I'd love to attend the Monaco Grand Prix, the Palio di Siena, and the Winter Olympics the next time it's held in the Alps.

Easily the top of my list. And I'm coping with the fact, it'll never happen.
