Hockey East '10-'11

What are everyone's thoughts regarding the hockey east league as a whole for this upcoming season? Any thoughts or predictions on which teams will see success? Teams to watch?

Re: Hockey East '10-'11

If BU can work all that potential into a cohesive, happy unit, I fear it may be the Year of the Dog (Terrier, that is)

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it is also going to be dependent on their goalie situation. They had a huge bonus with Melissa H last year, being virtually untested in prior years but able to step-up big time in Hockey East play.

I don't follow them closely enough to know what they have for next year but I do think that is a big factor.

I, personally, think this is Friar year :)

Re: Hockey East '10-'11

This year is wide open. The slight edges in preseason are given to BU and BC. I wouldn't count UNH out though. Then the group of PC/NU/UCONN. Followed by VT and Maine.

Re: Hockey East '10-'11

UNH seems to be getting weaker as the seasons go on and will be hurting with the loss of the class of '10. With other teams getting stronger such as BU, UCONN and PC I find it hard to believe that UNH can continue their success in the league.

NEVER underestimate UNH.

This is what I'm thinking too for the most part, although I'm inclined to think Northeastern challenges for 4th.

The Terriers may be able to gain some space on the rest of the pack with the new boards and lighting at WBA (I'm assuming they are going to actually illuminate the building this time) but I think you will be able to throw a blanket over the next five.

I agree--I think it will be BU, a gap, and then the next five neck and neck, and then an even bigger gap.

I agree with that. When you look at the caliber goalie that many of the other teams can put in the crease, BU can't afford to be inconsistent in net and still win the league.

8. Maine

1. BU (still champ's 'till proven otherwise)
2. PC (strong roster again should be interesting)
3. NU (continues to build and climb)
3. UNH (always strong)
5. BC (not what they used to be)
5. Uconn (show what you got)
7. Vermont (???)
8. Maine (continues to struggle from within)

Just my two cents!:D

HOCKEY EAST 2010

You have to judge by last seasons post play, 2010 Roster additions and
the play of last years underclass players. Just a guess, and not all number
ranked. More like pairings. Goaltending will be the final answer down the
stretch.

BU
Uconn,Providence,UNH
NU,BC
Vermont
Maine

Re: Hockey East '10-'11

Maybe for once UNH will not have the bullseye on their backs...obviously last year was the breakthrough for BU and Durocher, and well deserved, but I agree with Arm and Scrambled that the key will be goaltending....if I remember correctly even Maine was in the games last year for 2 periods so if they can focus themselves a bit, and then there's Vermont playing in Gutterson, heck it's gonna be fun!! I'm hoping for a solid return from the UNH goalie tandem....I think both the girls have the experience now of being great and then average so they know what is needed from them in order to make it their hockey team.....wishful maybe but I have to give them the respect... look at how Haber responded last year for her teammates....so let's get rid of this stupid summer heat and get out the respective hoodies for hockey...Go Cats!
