Hockey day MN

Re: Hockey day MN

The single game, non-conference, between BSU and Mankato is listed as either Friday the 18th, Saturday the 19th, or Sunday the 20th on BSU's schedule. The BSU men will be playing Michigan Tech that weekend in a conference series, and it has already been announced by Michigan Tech's coach that the Saturday game will be outdoors. The Wild host Columbus that night at 8:00, which is typical for Hockey Day Minnesota. All that is left the official announcement, which happens July 1 in Bemidji. With that will come the naming of the High School Teams playing that day/weekend.

So, I could see the women's game being Friday afternoon/evening, high school games on Saturday with BSU and Michigan Tech men Saturday night.

Re: Hockey day MN

The women's game looks like it will be on the 19th at 1:00. This should fall in line with the schedule last year in St. Cloud

Re: Hockey day MN

The BSU Women against Mankato will be at 1:00 on Saturday, January 19th. It will be sandwiched between the Minnetonka/Andover boys HS game and the Bemidji/Greenway boys HS game.

Thursday night is the girls HS game with Bemidji taking on Woodbury at 7:00

Friday night, the BSU Men take on Michigan Tech at 7:00

Saturday
Minnetonka/Andover boys HS at 9:30
BSU Women vs Mankato at 1:00
Bemidji vs Greenway boys HS at 4:30
BSU Men vs Michigan Tech at 7:30 (Sanford Center)

Re: Hockey day MN

Looks like a cold one. Make sure to have the cold gear with!

Friday: High of -3 F, low of -18 F
Saturday: High of -4 F, low of -15 F.

No snow in the forecast, and hopefully the wind isn't blowing.

If you are going, enjoy the festivities! Wish I could make it, but the kiddo has hockey stuff going on here that day as well.

Re: Hockey day MN

A little chilly tonight with an overnight low forecast of -23 F, and a high tomorrow of -3

And the players better have their blades extra sharp as that lake ice should be a little on the hard side. For those brave souls who do show up to watch it's a pretty scene though:

Technically, it is not lake ice, but lake side ice. The rink is on land in the South Shore/Sanford Center complex.

It will be chilly and the ice will be hard. They shouldn't have to worry about any melting, but will have to watch for chipping.
