I noticed Hockey Canada posted the rosters of the players trying out for the U18 and U22 teams that will compete against the USA in mid August in Lake Placid and Toronto. Camp schedules are posted as well.

Go to www.hockeycanada.ca and work off the main page to get info.

Nice to see current OSU Buckeyes Natalie Spooner and Laura McIntosh on the U22 list. Coach Barto has done a great job raising the bar with OSU Women's Hockey. We had four girls in the Olympics and all four medaled, one gold (Tessa Bonhomme).

Surprised Hoky Langan (OSU forward / WCHA scoring leader) not on camp roster.

You know, now that you mention it, that is a surprise. She was only a freshman this past season. I am really looking forward to having her here for three more seasons.

Cornell has NINE players (8 skaters and a goalie!) invited to the camp!

Suprisingly Mattj did not yet pick up on this. :D

Ohh, I did. :D I've just been too busy :( ...so far this summer I have sold my old home, bought a new one, got engaged and, as of last week, turned in my notice at work...I'm hoping things have slowed down by the time hockey season starts again.

When you have a mortgage....believe me, it doesn't slow down.

Doyle was the Top D at Nats last year...she's on the shelf this year with an injury!

I said "A top D", that is different from "The Top D". Besides Doyle is no longer eligible. Ambrose is two years younger than Doyle.

So were the U18 vs U22 games as lopsided as the scores? Not sure who benefits from games like that .

From experience, it is always tough to play an opponent that is clearly at the next level, but two things happen in this situation (at least 2)

1) The players who can play at that level become a little more obvious.

2) The players who have the potential and drive to be at that level get a taste of what it will take to get there.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Re: Hockey Canada U18/U22 Camp Rosters

Let me guess........ Nobody stood out for the U18's in the 11-0 loss. It was 11-0 after 2 I think.:D

The earlier U18 vs U22 games a few days ago were much closer. Tomorrow is the 3 on 3 tournament. Teams will be selected during the weekend. Monday the Final U18 and Final U22 squads square off.

Re: Hockey Canada U18/U22 Camp Rosters

Doyle was invited to the U22 camp, not U18! She is eligible, but as noted is injured. She was invited but could not attend
