They have just been practicing. Upcoming scrimmages will be the first indicators. Don't think it is appropriate to start naming players on here. Hope to check out the facilities (brand new) this weekend.

BTW Camp is just east of Rockland, in rural eastern Ontario region. Home stomping grounds of hockey notables Derek Roy, Stephane Yelle and Jacques Martin. Best known female player from that region would be Dominique Thibault.

I also will be attending the last two under 22 games on sun. and tues.but will not be making any individual comments. I have looked at the makeup of the two teams and particularly the forwards--there is quite a difference between the two teams as far age is concerned,one has 6 of 90, 1of 91 and 5 of 92 whereas the other has 1 of 90, 3 of 91 5 of 92,2 of 93 and 1 of 94.Defence is not that much difference, it'll be interesting to see how balanced the two teams are.

Rockland, Ont. – First game, first period jitters didn’t seem to bother National Women’s Under-18 Team selection camp rookies Ashleigh Brykaliuk (Brandon, Man.) and Hilary Lloyd (Toronto, Ont.), who hammered the White net with shots to open scoring in Rockland, Ont., and helped give Red a 1-0 win over White in Wednesday’s intersquad action.

White goaltender Amanda Leveille (Kingston, Ont.) made a beauty save on Lloyd’s initial shot from out front, she gave up a rebound to Brykaliuk and ended up sprawled in the crease, with the puck soaring high into the back of the net at 11:45 in the period.
Players on both sides scrambled for the puck throughout the first, as they found their footing and adjusted to their new teammates in a game setting, but as the matchup progressed they appeared to become more confident on the ice, and with each other.
White had several chances at making a comeback in the second, as Red was sent to the penalty box four times in the period, but despite creating some decent chances and getting some strong shots off, just couldn’t capitalize on the powerplay.
Both teams swapped their netminders midway through the period, with Elaine Chuli (Waterford, Ont.) replacing Emerance Maschmeyer (Bruderheim, Alta.) for Red and Kimberly Newell (Burnaby, B.C.) taking over White’s duties between the posts for Leveille.
By the time the puck dropped on the third, both teams were looking calm and confident on the ice, and the puck flew up-and-down the rink as White tried to crack the scoreboard and Red fought to maintain its lead.
In the end, however, the first game of Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team selection game belonged to Red, who skated away with bragging rights – at least until the next intersquad game at the Canadian International Hockey Academy, this Friday at 7 p.m. ET in Rockland.

Rockland, Ont. – The puck flew up-and-down the ice, and both teams exchanged goals to keep the score close, until Carolyne Prévost stepped it up a notch late in the second to kick off her hat trick and help boost Blue to a 5-2 win over Yellow during intersquad action Thursday night.
But despite Blue’s convincing victory at Canada’s National Women’s Under-22 Team/Development Camp, Yellow was the team to crack the scoreboard first, with blueliner Lauriane Rougeau (Beaconsfield, Que.) taking a quick snap shot from the point at just over five minutes into the first.
But before the period was done, Blue’s Natalie Spooner (Scarborough, Ont.) evened the score, taking a pass out front from Mélodie Daoust (Valleyfield, Que.) and sending a snap shot soaring into the back of the net at 14:21 in the period.

WHITE EARNS INTERSQUAD REDEMTION IN SHOOTOUT

Erika Sowchuk (Vauxhall, Alta.) opened the scoring for White in the shootout, while Meghan Dufualt (Winnipeg, Man.) had Red's only shootout marker, in what was an evenly played, well-matched game on the ice inside the newly built Canadian International Hockey Academy arena. The White win evens the selection camp intersquad score, as Red edged White 1-0 in the first of three games Wednesday.
It was Red to crack the scoreboard first, when Nicole Connery (Newmarket, Ont.) let a slap shot go from the point to make it 1-0 over White midway through the first. Sounds like the games are really close suggesting excellent competition. One more game left this afternoon and and a night for the coaches to mull over the roster before the girls get the news tomorrow whether they are staying or going. Good luck to all!

It took more than a period and a half for either team to earn a marker, with both teams fighting hard to protect their netminders from the puck, and all players putting everything they’ve got on the ice for the final intersquad game of selection camp.

The back-and-forth action kept fans at the Canadian International Hockey Academy watching in anticipation, but once Lemire notched a marker of her own to make it 2-1 for her team, White did everything they could to keep the puck out of their zone for the remainder of the game.
Even two powerplay opportunities in the third for Red wasn’t enough to give them a comeback, allowing White to take its second win in three games, and intersquad series bragging rights. After the final roster for the National Women’s Under-18 Team roster is named, Canada will play against the United States for a three-game series taking place Thursday, August 18; Friday, August 19 and Sunday August 21, also in Rockland.

Must have been some tough decisions for the staff to make. It looks like they have selected a good bunch of girls with some decent size too! Let's hope they have thespeed and skill to compliment that. It should be an exciting series later this week in Rockland. I believe the USA U18's are being finalized on Monday, can't wait!

Yellow 2 - Blue 3 (OT)
FORTINO FINDS THE NET IN OT, BLUE WINS INTERSQUAD SERIES
Rockland, Ont. – Laura Fortino (Hamilton, Ont.) accepted the puck from teammate Isabel Ménard (Ottawa, Ont.), skated down the ice with ease and shot high into the back of the net – all within 30 seconds of OT – to help Blue to a 3-2 win Tuesday at the Canadian International Hockey Academy.
The second win for her team at Canada's National Women's Under-22/Development Team training camp means that Blue also comes out on top in the three-game intersquad series, which saw Yellow beat Blue 3-2 in a shootout and Blue pummel Yellow 5-2 in the first two matchups.
Perhaps the outcome of the third and final game was foreshadowed in the first period, when Ménard opened the scoring with a minute and a half left, off a Kelly Babstock (Port Credit, Ont.) assist.
Yellow worked hard to keep the score close, with Christine Bestland (Brunkild, Man.) evening it up at 5:37 in the period to make it 1-1 at intermission, and continued to fight for the puck in the second. After several nice plays and shots from Yellow, Shelby Bram (Ste. Anne, Man.) helped her team earn the 2-1 edge on a goal just four minutes into the period.
Yellow was able to hold Blue at bay until the buzzer sounded on the second, but Blue came out of the dressing room in the third with a fire lit under their skates, pushing Yellow to the brink in every little battle on the ice. Yellow pulled out all the stops to maintain the lead, but a penalty late in the game left the team short a player, and Blue wasn't about to let that opportunity go to waste.
With just a minute left on the clock in regulation time, Fortino fed Mélodie Daoust (Valleyfield, Que.), who sent the puck flying past the Yellow goal line and sent it into overtime. Fortino followed up on Daoust's goal with one of her own in the fourth frame, sealing the win – and the intersquad series for Blue.
Following the camp, Hockey Canada scouts, along with the team's coaching staff, will continue to evaluate players with their club teams during the 2011-12 season, in preparation for selecting the Canadian team that will compete at the 2012 MLP Cup next January in Füssen, Germany. Canada has won this international tournament eight times in nine years, losing just two games.
