FYI, your gmail has been hacked.

I got this email this morning:

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, I came down here to
London,England for a short vacation unfortunately i was mugged at the
park of the hotel where i stayed,all cash,credit card and cell were
stolen off me but luckily for me, i still have my passports with me.
I've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping
issues at all and my flight leaves in less than 3hrs from now but i am
having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't
let me leave until i settle the bills.

Am freaked out at the moment..

Yeah, brent told me about it this morning. I'm working on getting it fixed but of course the *er(s) changed the recovery e-mail address so there's not much I can do right now. I filled out their account recovery form so hopefully something comes of that and they can reset my account :mad: :mad: :mad:

Look at the entire header- it will tell you where it really came from. It's possible that a friend of bando's has a virus, and it's sending e-mail to their entire address book.

I had to deal with this a few times with friends, but it came down to a just a couple of people who had a virus.

but the comlete header will tell you more info.

Zud or brent, if you can possibly e-mail that to me through my USCHO e-mail (as it's thankfully NOT my gmail), that would be great.

I sent you the complete email. I'm glad you got it worked out. This happened to my wife's Yahoo account - they changed all her settings including pw recovery ones. After fighting Yahoo for weeks she gave up and switched to Google.

I just got this e-mail through another yahoo account. Looks like there has been a wholesale hacking of the yahoo e-mail accounts.

This is why I change my passwords - work, google accounts, yahoo, and facebook - every six weeks.
