HEA Semis: (1) UMass Lowell vs. (4) Our Lady of the Lake

Re: HEA Semis: (1) UMass Lowell vs. (4) Our Lady of the Lake

I think NICC (Fake Hockey East) is going down...

One can hope. Lowell's eliminated them from the HE tournament in the 2014 semis and 2015 quarterfinals. Fake Hockey East has also been pretty much owned by UML since they joined the league in 2013 to the tune of a 8-2-2 record. Let's hope for 9-2-2 on Friday and send them packing.

Unfortunately they're too good for the USCHO boards so it's doubtful any of their fans will be heard this week as they're never on here. This thread will probably be just Lowell fans chattering about the game along with other teams' fans.

Looks like NU and PC (Viva L'Alliance) are behind Lowell. We'll do our best! No love for Fake Hockey East around here.

Checked out ND's record when they travel to the east coast. Hoping to see if there was a correlation to travel and their first match of a series. Looks like they have done pretty well this year with a 4-2 record.

ND is 6-4-1 when coming east this year.

1-0-1 vs NU
1-1-0 vs Amherst
1-1-0 vs MC
0-1-0 vs BC
1-1-0 vs BU
2-0-0 vs ME

Think the usual posers in Fighting Irish gear will be at the Garden in force or will they be too busy swilling green beer and worshiping porcelain gods?

Depends a bit on Princeton's performance on the hardwood right now...

There were just a handful of Fake Hockey East fans there in 2014 from what I recall during the semis. Not many made the trip obviously, not even their band and mascot. Not many local alumni from what one could tell either so the few that were there were probably player relatives or posers.

I mean to be fair their band and mascot were at the NCAA basketball game....

One would think a school like that would have separate pep bands (or at least be able to "split" them to get a semblance of a band shipping up to Boston). :D

Seriously, though...
Not enough money at Notre Dame. ;)

Just goes to show how ridiculous it was to have a team from 895 miles away in your conference (I get it that out West there isn't much of a choice because things are geographically way more spread out).

Good riddance to Fake Hockey East!
