Harvard @ RPI - Friday, Feb 1st

Re: Harvard @ RPI - Friday, Feb 1st

Very easy night for Kasdorf but nice to see him get a shutout.

Re: Harvard @ RPI - Friday, Feb 1st

A nice win-some things to be picky about-but a nice win. Shows what we can do when the refs let the game play out. Only 6 total penalties called although we did get hit with a major that was well deserved. Hopefully we remain healthy for tomorrow. Rogic will be back and perhaps lots of fluids and chicken soup for JL will work wonders. I still ask whether it would be wise to give each player a flu shot before the season starts.(if that is not already being done)

Re: Harvard @ RPI - Friday, Feb 1st

It just occurred to me what causes this - I will fix it for tomorrow.

Thanks-i assume we will have lots of people tuning in. RPI TV does an incredible job-could never compalin about anything as you guys give us a chance to see this team for so many games.

it wasn't clear from SA's comments if it is really the flu.

Re: Harvard @ RPI - Friday, Feb 1st

Thanks but neither IE or Firefox is allowing any change of bitrate. Hopefully will be better for tomorrow

The bitrate change can be very subtle - it used to be that you could tell that it switched because you can hear the audio switch, but that isn't the case anymore. I'll see if I can figure it out, but thanks for letting me know.

Even in a young healthy boy-this year's flu is pretty rough. The B strain is fairly mild and well protected against by the vaccine. The A strain comes in a couple of varieties-one is particularly nasty with most people bed ridden for 1-2 weeks and lingering effects for up to a month. There are some doctors actually for the first time recommending a second shot 3-4 months after the first. i hope this was just that stomach virus that has also been seen this year (narovirus I believe) that started in Australia. That is a bit rough but only lasts a couple of days.

In Firefox the menu for the various bit rates show up-but nothing is clickable to change and nothing seems to make it work. In IE the menu does not even appear-the screen just goes dark. I have full faith in you guys. We have the best broadcasting of college hockey on the web.

Even if you do get a flu shot (as Cornell's team does each year), the sleep habits of college students can make it ineffective. If sleep deprived (under 7 hours per night) flu shot much less effective.

Sleep deprivation no doubt affects immunity to all sorts of things. Never saw any studies of how it affects the protection offered by the flu shot (which this year may be less than 60% effective any way). What you posted makes sense empirically though.

Yes, he is a 94 playing at Salisbury and Heisenberg has him as uncommitted. He'd be the fourth.
....actually, he's (Marc Biega) playing in the BCHL with Coquitlam. From what I've read his grades are holding him out of Harvard...for now.

Hope they don't have this problem tomorrow night when the feed is being shown on TWC 1. That would be embarrassing after we all rave about how good the broadcasting by RPItv has been.

If he has hockey talent, I am sure somehow, someway, Harvard will find a way to help tutor him into the school.;)
